Bike Week 2009

Treasure Hunt - 14th June 2009

Winners

Congratulations to Helen, Hugh, Anthony, Robert and Hannah Dunford, the winners of the Treasure Hunt, your prize will be with you shortly!

Route: Tring Parish

The 2009 Bike Week kicked off with a very successful Treasure Hunt, which started from Zebra Square in Tring, down into Drayton Beauchamp, across to Puttenham, Astrope and Wilstone, through to Little Tring then back to the finish in Tring. We were very lucky with the weather and well over 40 riders joined us. Everyone enjoyed themselves and there were lots of smiling faces at the end!

If you missed the Hunt why not have a go yourself! To download a copy of the Treasure Hunt in Word format, please right click here and select 'Save target as...'. You could email us your answers to the clues and the various kinds of wildlife you spotted on the way, see if you can spot a Red Kite or two!

Poems

Some of the participants wrote some poems along the Treasure Hunt...

Dunford family:

Around the lanes near leafy Tring
Lots of cyclists were looking for things.
We saw some lions,
We read lots of names –
All to get some instant fame.
But to answer some clues, we took a punt;
Why? To win the Tring Treasure Hunt!

Ewart family:

Come and join TBCC
Enjoy the cycling – it is FREE!

Piggott family:

A café at Mead's Farm
Looks a bit like a barn.
We had two cups of tea,
And an ice-cream for me,
Didn't do us any harm!

Leigh Amos and Lily Smith:

Tring Cycling,
Ding-a-Ling,
Aylesbury Ring.
Mead,
Feed,
Wee'd,
Speed.
Walk up hill,
Talk to Lil,
Icknield Way –
Hip Hooray!

McKerrow family:

There once was a group on their bikes
Who rode round to see the sights
Of hill and field
And some things weird –
But now it is time for 'night-night'.
